Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add the widget to my Home Screen? Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget. Search for SacredWidget, choose Sacred Day and pick a size.
How do I add it to my Lock Screen? Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, then tap the widget area and select SacredWidget.
How do I change a widget's tradition or style? Touch and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget. Choose a Tradition (Catholic, Orthodox or Both traditions) and a Style (Classic or Minimal). "Both traditions" requires Sacred Pro.
When does the widget update? Once a day, at midnight. iOS decides the exact moment, so the change can occasionally come a little later.
Why is there no saint today? On feasts and saints' days, SacredWidget shows the celebration of the day. On other days, it shows a verse of Scripture and a reflection for the liturgical season.
Which calendar does the Orthodox tradition use? Fixed feasts follow New Calendar (Revised Julian) dates, so the Nativity of Christ is on December 25. Pascha and the feasts that depend on it follow the Julian paschalion. The Old Calendar (Julian) dates are not currently supported.
Why does a date differ from my parish calendar? Liturgical practice varies between countries, dioceses, eparchies and parishes, and feasts may be transferred locally. For local observances, follow your parish.
The daily reminder doesn't arrive. In the App, check Settings → Daily reminder and its time. Then check that notifications for SacredWidget are allowed in your iPhone Settings → Notifications.
How do I switch my tradition in the App? Open Settings → Liturgical calendar and choose Catholic or Orthodox.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Restore a purchase. If a subscription you paid for is not active, for example after reinstalling the App or on a new device, open the App and use Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
Manage or cancel. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel or change a subscription, open your device Settings (your name → Subscriptions) or the App Store app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal.
Refunds. The developer does not process payments and cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. To request a refund, use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Tips. Optional tips support development and unlock no features. Tips are consumable purchases, so there is nothing to restore after you buy one.
Your Data
Analytics. You can stop sharing usage analytics at any time under Settings → Privacy → Share Analytics in the App.
Erase your data. To remove the App's data from your device, use Settings → Privacy → Erase All Data in the App. To ask for deletion of data already sent to analytics or purchase providers, use Request Data Deletion on the same screen before erasing, or contact the developer.
More details are in the Privacy Policy.
