Frequently Asked Questions
Does FlightVibe show real flights? No. Every flight in FlightVibe is virtual. The App does not track aircraft and does not show real schedules, delays or airline data. Flight times are estimated from the distance between the two airports, and the flight number, gate and seat on your boarding pass are made up for your journey.
How long does a flight take? At 1×, a flight follows its estimated real flight time, which can be many hours on a long route. To arrive sooner, tap Flight Speed in the bottom panel and choose a speed of up to 1000×. A Wind Down Flight ignores the speed setting and lasts exactly the time you choose: 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or a custom length.
Where are History and Settings? On the map, swipe the bottom panel up to its full height. History and Settings are in the GENERAL group. To open your Travel Passport, tap the globe button at the top of History. To delete a flight, swipe it to the left in History.
Does FlightVibe work offline? Partly. The airport catalog, airport search, your history, flight journal and Travel Passport are stored on your iPhone. The map itself, satellite imagery, 3D views and the destination information (text, photos, local time) are loaded from the internet, so they need a connection. Without a connection, or in Low Power Mode, 3D Flyover switches to a simpler window view.
Why is there no sound? Flight sounds play during a flight while FlightVibe is open on screen. Check that the Mute tool in the bottom panel is off, that your iPhone is not in Silent mode, and that the volume in Settings → Flight ambience is turned up. The sound stops when the screen locks or when you switch to another app.
Long flights make my iPhone warm or use a lot of battery. An animated map keeps the screen and graphics busy, and 3D views, satellite imagery and 3D Flyover do the most work. For long sessions, choose the Overview camera and the Standard map in 2D, lower the screen brightness, or keep your iPhone on a charger. In Low Power Mode, 3D Flyover switches off automatically.
What happens if I close the App during a flight? Your current flight is saved. When you open FlightVibe again, it comes back paused, ready to resume. The same happens when your iPhone locks during a regular flight. A Wind Down Flight keeps track of the time you chose, so it still ends on time. You can also pause a flight from its Live Activity on the Lock Screen: this closes the Live Activity, and you resume the flight in the App. To turn Live Activities off, use Settings → Live Activity in the App.
Where do the destination facts and photos come from? Region, local time and time zone come from Apple's geocoding service, and population figures from Wikidata. The city introduction comes from Wikipedia and is available under CC BY-SA 4.0, with a link to the full article. Photos come from Pexels and Wikimedia Commons; each photo shows its author and links to its source. This content is provided by third parties and shown as it is, so it can be incomplete, out of date or not match the exact place. Airport data comes from OurAirports (public domain) and Wikidata (CC0), and airport details show the source of any passenger figures. Full notices are in Settings → Attribution.
What is free, and what does FlightVibe Pro add? FlightVibe is free to use with up to 3 flights a day and 5 favorite airports. A flight counts once it takes off, even if you cancel it, and the count resets at midnight, local time. Every speed, camera, soundscape and atmosphere is free. FlightVibe Pro is an optional subscription that adds unlimited flights, unlimited favorite airports and Travel Passport export.
