Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start? Open the Timer tab and tap Start break. This starts the countdown to your next break, 20 minutes by default. When it reaches zero, EyeReset sends a reminder: tap it (or tap Start now) to begin the break, or choose Snooze 5 min or Skip. After a short Get ready, look at something about 20 feet (6 meters) away until the countdown ends, then tap Continue.

Why doesn't the next countdown start on its own? Each countdown runs once, by design. After a break, tap Start break on the Timer tab when you are ready for the next round. If a countdown ends while the App is closed and you open the App without tapping the reminder, the timer returns to its start screen.

How do I change the interval? To change the default, open Settings → Interval and choose 10, 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. To change it for the current session only, tap the time on the Timer tab before you start (it shows Change). A session interval goes back to your default the next time the App is launched.

I don't get the reminder. Check that notifications for EyeReset are allowed in your iPhone Settings → Notifications. A reminder is only scheduled while a countdown is running: Pause and Stop cancel it. If a new countdown would end during your quiet hours (Settings → Quiet hours, 22:00 to 08:00 by default), its reminder waits until quiet hours end. Reminders are sent as Time Sensitive notifications; if you use a Focus, make sure Time Sensitive notifications are allowed for EyeReset in iPhone Settings → Notifications.

How do I see the countdown on my Lock Screen? When a countdown or a break is running, EyeReset shows it as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and, on iPhones with the Dynamic Island, at the top of the screen. If it doesn't appear, check that Live Activities are turned on for EyeReset in your iPhone Settings.

How do I add the widget? Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget. Search for EyeReset and choose a small, medium or large size. The widget shows your day streak, today's breaks and the time until your next break.

Why didn't my streak go up? A day counts toward your streak once you complete five breaks on that day. Breaks you cancel don't count. One missed day in a week won't reset your streak.

Is EyeReset a medical app? No. EyeReset is a general wellness app that helps you build a habit of regular screen breaks based on the 20-20-20 rule. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. If you have eye discomfort or changes in your vision, see an eye care professional.

Where is my data, and how do I delete it? Your break history and settings are stored on your iPhone. To keep a copy, use Settings → Export data: it creates CSV files that you can save or share. Deleting the App removes the data stored on your device. The App also uses analytics and crash reporting services; to ask about or delete data held by them, contact the developer. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Restore a purchase. If a subscription you paid for is not active, for example after reinstalling the App or on a new device, open the App and use Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

Manage or cancel. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel or change a subscription, open your device Settings (your name → Subscriptions) or the App Store app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal.

Refunds. The developer does not process payments and cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. To request a refund, use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com.
