Frequently Asked Questions

How is my day count calculated? Your birth date is day 0, and the count goes up by one at each local midnight, in your current time zone. Dates use the Gregorian calendar, so your 10,000th day is exactly 10,000 days after your birth date. The same rule applies to every other date you track.

Which milestones does Daymark show? Round numbers (1,000 days and every 10,000), halfway points (5,000, 15,000, 25,000 and so on), repdigits such as 1,111 or 11,111, palindromes such as 10,001 or 12,321, powers of two from 1,024 to 32,768, and yearly anniversaries. The free version shows round numbers; Pro shows every pattern. Tap a milestone to see the date it falls on and how many days are left.

How do I add a widget? Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Daymark. Choose Days since, Next milestone or A memory and pick a size. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, then tap the widget area and select Daymark. To change which date or memory a widget shows, touch and hold it and tap Edit Widget. The free version includes the Days since widget for your birth date on the Home Screen; the other widgets require Pro.

When do the numbers on my widgets change? Day counts move forward at midnight without opening the App. iOS decides the exact moment a widget redraws, so occasionally the change can come a little later.

Why didn't a milestone reminder arrive? Reminders arrive at 9:00 AM on the day of a milestone, at most one per day: if two of your dates reach a milestone on the same day, you get one reminder. In the App, check that Settings → Milestone reminders is on, and in your iPhone Settings check that notifications for Daymark are allowed. The free version sends reminders for round-number milestones of your birth date; Pro adds every milestone pattern and your other dates.

Where is my data stored? Your dates, counters and journal, including photos, are stored on your iPhone. Daymark has no account and does not sync through iCloud, so the developer cannot see or recover your entries. Your widgets receive a copy of the titles, numbers and photo thumbnails they display; widgets on the Lock Screen can be seen without unlocking your iPhone. Usage analytics never include the dates, titles, notes, tags or photos you enter. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I move my data to a new iPhone? On the old iPhone, open Settings → Export a backup (a Pro feature) and save the file, for example to Files or with AirDrop. On the new iPhone, open Settings → Import a backup and choose the file. Importing replaces every date, counter and journal entry currently in the App. Photos are not included in the backup file. Restoring a full iPhone backup also restores Daymark's data.

What do share cards show? The day-count card, shared from the Days tab, shows your day count, your birth date and your next milestone. A milestone card shows the number, its type, the date it falls on and what makes it special. Nothing is shared until you choose a destination in the share sheet. In the free version, cards carry a small Daymark watermark.

What happens to my data if Pro ends? Nothing you've added is deleted. You can still see your dates, counters and journal entries, but milestones go back to round numbers, Pro widgets show a lock, and adding more than the free limits (one counter with up to 10 events, three journal entries, no dates besides your birth date) requires Pro again.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Restore a purchase. If a subscription you paid for is not active, for example after reinstalling the App or on a new device, open the App and use Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

Manage or cancel. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel or change a subscription, open your device Settings (your name → Subscriptions) or the App Store app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal.

Refunds. The developer does not process payments and cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. To request a refund, use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com.
